The 44th SBA ENGLISH SPEECH CONTEST
On Wednesday, October 18th, two students from Tezukayama Gakuin Izumigaoka took part in the 44th Annual Sakai Berkley Speech Contest. In this contest Watanabe Kohei (中2-3) and Nakamura Miyu (中3-1), wrote their own original English speeches and then performed them in front of an audience along with about 14 other students from other schools. Kohei and Miyu worked very hard to write and memorize their speeches for several weeks before the day of the contest. On the day of the competition, all the students were very nervous to speak English in front of many people, but they all did their best and everyone did a great job performing their speeches. Kohei and Miyu did particularly well. Kohei won fourth place and Miyu won second place in the competition! Overall, it was a very exciting and interesting experience and I am very proud of our students for all their hard work and well-earned success.
