Maroochydore State High School Study Abroad Trip (Report 2)

Tuesday was the second day of classes at Maroochydore State High School. In the morning the students from Tezukayama Gakuin Izumigaoka met their buddies and went with them to Care Class (朝礼).

After Care class the students went to Japanese class and helped to teach the Australian students Japanese. They played games with the students and did a speaking activity outside! Then the Japanese students taught the Australian students how to play kendama.

After Japanese class, the students attended a science lesson. Unfortunately, Eric Sensei was unable to attend and take pictures.

However, after science class the students had an English lesson with Melinda, the teacher from Lexis English. They learned about Marsupials(有袋類). Then they played games to remember the names of several Australian Marsupial animals.

After English class the Japanese students again joined a Japanese lesson and helped teach Japanese to the Australian students. They played a picture drawing game to practice Japanese verbs. Then they went outside to play games. Some students played a game on the sports field to practice Japanese numbers, and other students were taught how to play hand ball by the Australian students.

After Japanese class, the students from Tezukayama Gakuin had another English lesson. The students learned about other Australian animals and about the English words for animal body parts. They played games to practice remembering the names of the animals. Then the students learned about the English words for animal body parts and imagined and drew their own new animals!

After the English lesson it was time to go home and the students went home with their host families!

On Wednesday, the students from Tezukayama Gakuin Izumigaoka were again met by their Australian buddies and went with them to Care Class(朝礼). After Care Class the Japanese students went to Music class. They played music, designed their own rhythm, and played musical games.

After music class, the students had a math lesson. They played many fun games with numbers in English

After Math class, the students were met by their Australian buddies and they went to class with them. The students went to many different classes throughout the school. They attended art, history, PE and many other classes with their Australian buddies. They attended class with their buddies again after lunch as well.

After returning from class with their buddies the students from Tezukayama Gakuin Isumigaoka had one more English class with Melinda. They learned about how to talk about different sports in English. Then they went outside and played basketball, tennis, and volleyball until it was time to go home with their host families.

The students had a great Tuesday and Wednesday and they are all looking forward the fun activities they have planned for the rest of the week.
